K. Daphnae Koop creates mixed media paintings on hand-built carved wood panels. Often embellished with streams of shattered glass and objects found in nature, her paintings are a unique combination of non-traditional materials and techniques. Honoring the beauty in the basest of materials, they are an attempt to elevate the ordinary and render the invisible visible. Koop studied art and literature, earning a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
